Wall Street Journal Launches iPad App
Posted on April 3, 2010
The Wall Street Journal is one of the media companies that have an iPad app ready to go right as the iPad is going on sale. The Wall Street Journal's iPad app provides updated news and information, full-screen video, market data and customizable features. It also lets users save articles and sections for later or offline reading. The app will be both fee-based and advertising based.
The Wall Street Journal for iPad is available as a stand-alone subscription for $3.99 per week. That is a rate of $207.48 a year. The Wall Street Journal's iPad app page says current WSJ subscribers get full access to the iPad app, but only for a limited time. This seems to clearly indicate that the WSJ plans to eventually charge even exisiting subscribers for the iPad app.
Update: Here's a new video about the WSJ app on iOS.
