A rare fancy vivid blue diamond ring will be sold at a Sotheby's auction this November in Geneva. It is expected to fetch as much as $25 million. The auction is called the Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels auction.

David Bennett, worldwide chairman of Sotheby's International jeweler division, told Reuters the ring "really is the color of a summer sky with this beautiful brilliance and subtlety about the stone."

The rare diamond weighs 8.01 carats. The ring the stone was set on was made by Cartier. The diamond is emerald cut.
