Donald Trump Tweet Tells People to Buy L.L. Bean Products

Donald Trump thanked Linda Bean of L.L. Bean in a tweet this morning. Linda Bean is the granddaughter of company founder Leon Leonwood Bean. Trump also encouraged people to buy L.L. Bean products in his tweet.
Trump tweeted, "Thank you to Linda Bean of L.L.Bean for your great support and courage. People will support you even more now. Buy L.L.Bean."
Trump's support for the outdoor brand comes following a boycott of the brand by a group named Grab Your Wallet. AOL News reports that this group avoids buying products made by companies that support Trump.
L.L. Bean has responded to the boycott by saying Linda Bean is only one of over fifty family members that work for the company or are involved with it. L. L. Bean says it does not endorse political candidates.
L.L. Bean issued the following statement on January 8th: "No individual alone speaks on behalf of the business or represents the values of the company that [founder] L.L. built. L.L.Bean does not endorse political candidates, take positions on political matters, or make political contributions. Simply put, we stay out of politics. To be included in this boycott campaign is simply misguided, and we respectfully request that Grab Your Wallet reverse its position."
The company also stated, "We are deeply troubled by the portrayal of L.L.Bean as a supporter of any political agenda." Trump's tweet will draw attention to Linda Bean's support of Donald Trump at a time when the company is trying to remain non-political. L.L. Bean has not yet responded to Trump's tweet.
