Toys R Us Announces 2012 Fabulous 15 Hot Toy List

Toys R Us has announced its Fabulous 15 toy list. These are the fifteen toys the toy retailer says represent the best new toys of the holiday season. One of the toys on the list is the new Furby, which was a hot toy a few years ago. Nintendo's new Wii U game console made the list. A group of One Direction dolls are also featured. The toys also include Tabeo, a new kids' tablet from the toy retailer itself.
Here are the toys that made the 2012 Toys R Us Hot List:
- Doc McStuffins Check Up Doll: This toy doll is based on the character in Doc McStuffins, a show on Disney Jr. The doll sings and utters phrases from her show. She can fix toys, such as her stuffed lamb friend named Lambie.
- Gelarti Designer Studio: Kids can design and paint stickers with this set from Gelarti that features a turntable-like display desk.
- Jake and the Never Land Pirates Jake's Musical Pirate Ship Bucky: Jake and the Never Land Pirates is another popular animated series from Disney Jr. This is a detailed recreation of the Bucky the pirate ship from the series. Features include music, action phrases and a canon that fires water-ball projectiles.
- Lalaloopsy Silly Hair Stars Harmony B. Sharp: These Lalaloopsy dolls are going to be popular this holiday. Lalaloopsy Harmony B Sharp sings and dances. She has six different hairstyles that play different songs. She has a cute little rattling kitty friend. The doll comes with a little pink performance stage.
- Furby: Here is the latest version of the odd Furby animated toy. The new version includes animated LED eyes. The new Furby also works with an app available for iOS devices. As a Furby owner you can use the app to feed the Furby and translate its language, called Furbish.
- LeapPad2 Explorer: LeadPad2 is a tablet designed for kids. It comes several apps, including an art studio app, photo app, utility suite and more. The tablet features front and back cameras, 4GB of memory and a video recorder. The tablet is designed for use with educational software and games. It comes with a rechargeable battery.
- Micro Chargers Time Track: Kids can race their micro size cars on this track which features a four lane launcher. You release all four cars with the press of a button and watch them race around the track and see which tiny car finished first.
- Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Secret Sewer Lair Playset: This TMNT playset features a 42-inch high recreation of the ninja turtles' Sewer Lair home. Some of the highlights include a Shredder practice dummy, tire swing, sliding doors, zip line and periscope.
- Hot Wheels R/C Terrain Twister: The Terrain Twister is a radio-controlled vehicle that can keep moving over a variety of terrains, including grass, water, snow, sand and rocky terrains. It can easily move backwards and forwards. The RC vehicle comes in green and red options.
- Ninjago Epic Dragon Battle: Ninjago is one of the newest lines from Lego. It was inspired the Ninjago TV show. This large 900+ piece set includes a snake monster called the Great Devourer. It has jaws that snap and a moveable body. The set also includes another dragon, the four-headed Ultra Dragon. There are also
eight minifigures.
- Skylanders Giants Starter Pack: Skylanders have become one of the most popular gaming add-ons. It involves character figures that beam into a video game when the character figure is placed on the Portal of Power. The game is available for the Playstation 3, Xbox 30, Wii and Nintendo 3DS. The new Skylanders Giants series is expected to be very popular for the 2012 holidays.
- Tabeo: Tabeo is a new touchscreen tablet for kids from Toys R Us. The 7-inch tablet comes preloaded with 50 apps. It is powered by a rechargeable battery. The tablet is powered by Android 4.0 and features a front camera, speaker and microphone. It has 1GB of RAM.
- Wii U: The Wii U is the latest gaming system from Nintendo. The system offer dual screen gaming through its GamePad controllers. The controllers feature a smaller screen that can work with the main screen or function independently. It will launch on November 18th with 23 new games.
- Y Volution Fliker F1 Flow Series Scooter: The Y Fliker is a three-wheeled scooter. The base of the scooter makes a V, with wheels at each point. Kids stand on large pedals on the scooter which can easily be twisted from side to side by the rider. The handle bars feature a brake to stop the scooter. The scooter has a lightweight steel frame.
- 1D Collector Dolls: Tweens love One Direction so there is no doubt that these dolls will be popular. The dolls are made to resemble the group's five members, Liam, Louis, Harry, Niall and Zayan. The hair and style of each member of the British boy band has also been replicated.
Toys R Us is offering a hot toy reservation program this year. Toys deemed a "hot toy" by Toys R Us can be reserved with a 20% deposit.
