Tom Binns Designs Jewelry Collection for Alice in Wonderland

Jewelry designer Tom Binns has created six jewelry pieces to tie-in with the release of Tim Burton's upcoming Alice in Wonderland film. The collection includes a cool broken teacup necklace.
Sixteen pieces of the jewelry can be seen at Vogue. The jewelry pieces will cost over $1,000 each. The pieces will be available at Bloomingdales, high end boutiques and online at bloomingdales.com. There will be a lower priced line called Tom Binns for Disney Couture.
Tom Binns told the New York Times T-Magazine, "For her necklace, I interspersed red lacquered hearts with vicious little pins and thorns. With 'Alice,' I could be my mad self, but in the context of Tim Burton's 'Alice,' my madness actually seemed rather tame."
Tom Binns told Vogue UK, "The story is full of very iconic images, so it wasn't difficult to find symbols that represent the stories - like the Mad Hatter's top hat and the watch, as time is a big reference point for the story. In fact, every scene in the book has something iconic that would represent it from start to finish."
Tom Binns focused on five characters and scenes for his designs: the White Queen, the Mad Hatter, the Red Queen, the Tea Party and the Cheshire Cat. He said he made forty pieces, but he easily could have made 200.
