General Mills has launched a new cereal brand called Tiny Toast. The cereal resembles little pieces of toast as the name suggests. The new cereal launches with two flavors: Blueberry and Strawberry.
Tiny Toast has no artificial flavors or colors. It also does not contain high-fructose corn syrup, sweetener that consumers are now looking to avoid due to health concerns. CBS News reports that the General Mills has big hopes for the cereal, which is its first new cereal brand in 15 years.
Alan Cunningham, General Mills' senior marketing manager, told CBS News, "The category is evolving and energized and we recognized an opportunity within our portfolio and the category for a new offering with wholesome ingredients that appeals to young adults."
Both Blueberry and Strawberry Tiny Toast have 9 grams of sugar and 22 grams of carbohydrates per 1/4 cup serving. There is also 2 grams of protein per 1/4 cup serving. The cereal is made using whole grain oats and whole grain corn.
