A study conducted by The NPD Group found that 1 in 10 Americans skip breakfast. The Morning MealScape 2011 study found that younger adults (18-34) have the highest incidence of skipping breakfast (28%). Males also skip breakfast more than females.

The reasons people gave for skipping breakfast included not being hungry and not having time. Most of those surveyed who do eat breakfast eat at home (75%).

Eating breakfast is recommended by nutrionists and health experts. The Mayo Clinic has a list of healthy benefits from eating breakfast. The CDC even says you should work in some vegetables in the morning. A Finnish study in 2003 found those skipping breakfast tend to lead unhealthier lifestyles.
