Starbucks Launches Nitro Cold Brew and Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew
Posted on May 31, 2016
Starbucks has launched two new cold coffee beverages. They include Nitro Cold Brew and Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew. The launches come as Starbucks expects the cold coffee category to double in the next three years.
Starbucks Nitro Cold Brew is the company's signature cold brew infused with nitrogen. Starbucks says this makes for a smoothy, creamy texture. It also says the drink is cold right out of the tap and is served unsweetened without ice. A Tall (12-ounce) serving of Nitro has 5 calories and 0 grams of sugar. It will be available in 500 stores by the end of the summer.
Anthony Carroll, 20-year partner on Starbucks Coffee team, "We start with a small chilled keg of Starbucks Cold Brew coffee. Then it's infused with nitrogen which unlocks the super-smooth, natural sweetness of the Cold Brew coffee, which then cascades from the tap with a velvety texture you can see and taste."
The other new cold coffee, Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew, is made with Starbucks Cold Brew over ice and topped with a house-made vanilla sweet cream. Starbucks says the cream floats on top of the beverage before slowly cascading down. A Tall (12-ounce) serving has 100 calories and 12 grams of sugar.
