Sears to Let Customers Virtually Try on Clothes
Posted on September 25, 2008
Sears is going to be adding a virtual shopping experience to its website. The screenshot above is from My Virtual Model which is the technology Sears will be using. Shoppers will need to enter their height and measurements and upload a photo so the model on the screen will look like them. Once this information is added users can then use the avatar to virtually try on clothing.
Here are some features of the 3-D modeling software, which was designed by women.
- The 3-D model can turn 360 degrees so the shopper can see the clothes from the front, side and back.
- Shoppers can choose different scenes to place behind the model.
- Shoppers will be able to search for specific styles using the software.
- Searches can be performed online from online and from in-store kiosks in Sears stores.
