Saks Fifth Avenue Opens First Canadian Stores

Posted on February 19, 2016

Saks Fifth Avenue has opened its first Canadian flagship store. The store is located in CF Toronto Eaton Center. A second store is scheduled to open in CF Sherway Gardens later this month.

The larger store (pictured) is in the Toronto Eaton Center with 25,000 square feet of retail space. The Sherway Gardens location has 18,500 square feet. Saks says it is launching a major service initiative with its new Canada stores. These services include a private shopping destination, a cosmetic station with makeovers, a beauty counter with on-the-go facials as well as regular special events, such as designer trunk shows.

Both locations will offer premium food experiences and introduce new restaurants. Beaumont Kitchen, spearheaded by Chef Michael Hay, will offer West Coast cuisine at the Sherway Gardens store. The restaurant at Toronto Eaton Center will be the Lena restaurant by Chef Anthony Walsh. It will offer South American cooking and dining with unique Spanish influences.

Marc Metrick, President of Saks Fifth Avenue, says in a statement, "It is a thrilling moment opening our Canadian flagship store. We are so excited to bring the best of Saks to Toronto. After more than two years of planning, our entry into Canada is truly a milestone for our company. We cannot wait to bring the Saks experience of an elegant edit of the best designer names, coupled with distinctive, personalized service to Toronto."
