Rush Limbaugh's Secret Passion: Jo Malone Gardenia Candles
Posted on June 23, 2008
Conservative talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh revealed his secret passion: Jo Malone Gardenia Candles. But Rush has a problem: his seaside mansion has really large rooms and the candles just aren't big enough to suit him. He needs big, manly, candles. Not those girly-sized votives. So, he logged onto the Jo Malone website and started a conversation with a customer service rep, who promised to pass on his request for larger candles.Rush describes himself as a "Jo Malone candle freak." He says he needs the big candles because it takes 15 to 20 little candles to scent one of the large rooms in his home. Limbaugh says gardenia is the scent he seeks.
Rush says, "I love gardenias. I love gardenia flowers. I love the scent of gardenia."
Rush wants Jo Malone to make a giant gardenia candle but it isn't happening. He hasn't been able to talk to the company's executives in London. Rush says the little candles just don't burn as long as the tiny ones.
He says, "Size does matter, Snerdley, especially in candles. Well, when you have a large room, absolutely size matters. Why would want 18 little things. Well, that's about the only bright side, big carbon footprint with 18 wicks burning, that's true. But they don't last as long as the big ones do."
Considering the fact that about 12 million people tune in to hear Rush take aim at his favorite liberal targets everyday, perhaps Jo Malone's execs should make him an extra-special giant gardenia candle.
This shocking revelation has us pondering several things: Who knew that Rush had such excellent taste in candles? Who was the girlfriend that dragged him into Neiman's and showed him the world of Jo Malone? Was it Daryn Kagan? What is Rush Limbaugh's scented candle bill every month?
