Rubik's Cube Celebrates 40th Anniversary With Exhibit at the Liberty Science Center

The popular Rubik's Cube toy was first invented in 1974 by Hungarian architect Erno Rubik. The colored cube toy turns 40 this year. There is a special exhibit at the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City to celebrate the 40th anniversary.
The exhibit is called Beyond Rubik's Cube. The exhibit includes a 26-foot high Groovik's Cube, which was created for the 2009 Burning Man Festival. There is also Cube Man, a life-sized cube companion. You will also find a 10-foot tall Rubik's Cube that you can control, robots that solve the Rubik's Cube and more. The exhibit will be open from now through November 2014.
Rubik's Cube inventor Erno Rubik attended the opening of the exhibit. He says he has spend a great deal of time with the cube during his lifetime as the cube has remained so popular for so long. He says the cube is his oldest child. Take a look:
