Rihanna and Puma Launch the Puma Creeper Sneaker
Posted on October 6, 2015
Rihanna and Puma recently released the first sneaker in the Puma by Rihanna collection. It is also the first sneaker in Rihanna's Fenty label. The sneaker is called the Puma Creeper.
Puma says the sneaker was inspired by New York City punk clubs from the 70s and 80s. It launched late last month in three colorways, including the black and white style Rihanna is wearing in the campaign. Travis Scott also stars in the first Puma by Rihanna campaign with Rihanna.
Rihanna says, "I am so excited to finally introduce the Puma Creeper to the world. Partnering with PUMA has given me the opportunity to create pieces that are unique and unexpected. I really wanted to dig into their archive and give classic silhouettes my own spin. The Puma Creeper is just that. And equally as cool, the fact that Travi$ Scott is joining me on my first launch is incredible."
New color versions will be released over the next year. The shoes retail for $120. The shoes quickly sold out at Puma pop-up stores last month in New York City. Footwear News reports that the Puma's selection on Puma.com also sold out in three hours.
Puma announced Rihanna as a global brand ambassador in December 2014. The singer also appears in Puma videos, such as this short video of her training.
