Zillow Adds Hide Homes Feature
Posted on September 9, 2022
Zillow is a website and app that lets users look for homes to live in. Zillow has added a new search feature on the Zillow App that lets home shoppers hide homes they are not interested in.
Users just press a button on the home listing page that prevents the home from showing up in future search results. The home can be returned to search results if users change their mind.
This can make the home search process easier. Users won't have to keep seeing the same homes they don't like over and over again. Zillow says customers were asking for this feature.
Jenny Arden, Zillow's chief design officer, says in a statement, "Home shopping can be stressful and time-consuming, and this new feature helps buyers reduce the noise and distraction so they can focus on the homes that inspire them. This upgrade was one of the most requested features by our customers, and it gives them a great way to remove the homes from their search results that fit their filter criteria but don't necessarily match their needs or tastes."
She also says, "This tool allows our millions of Zillow surfers the ability to 'X out' homes that they know they are not interested in touring or purchasing."
Zillow says hidden homes will also be removed from home recommendation alerts, emails and other touch points.
