Sephora Virtual Artist App Lets Women Try Out Different Lip Colors
Posted on March 7, 2016
Sephora has launched a new app that lets users try on thousands of different lip colors. It uses technology that was developed by ModiFace.
With the app users virtually try on lip colors through an interactive digital overlay on their own lips. There are over 3,000 colors available through the app. Colors can be chosen by brand, format or shade. The app includes all the lipsticks and lipglosses available for purchase at Sephora.
Bridget Dolan, VP of Sephora's Innovation Lab, says in a statement, "We know our clients wish they could try on every lipstick in our store. Now they can - instantly and effortlessly. Our focus is always to launch technology that provides a true benefit to our clients. With Sephora Virtual Artist, our clients can have friends vote on which shades look best on them from wherever they are. We want to make buying lipstick more fun than ever, and maybe a little addictive."
The app is free to use. It is available on iTunes through the Sephora to Go app. Sephora Virtual Artist also has a mobile and desktop version available at sephoravirtualartist.com. Here is a video that shows how the virtual beauty tool works:
