Nest Announces Nest Cam IQ Indoor Security Camera

Nest has announced a new security camera, the Nest Cam IQ. The "IQ" refers to the intelligence of the device. It has facial recognition (Nest Aware) and can alert you if someone is inside your home that shouldn't be. It also has a microphone and high quality speaker with noise cancellation and echo suppression so you can easily hear voices and you can talk through the device to people in the room when you are away.

The camera is an 8-megapixel 4K color sensor with 12x digital zoom. It can record up to 1080p HD video at 30 frames/sec. It has night vision and a 130 degree diagonal view. The camera is 2.9 inches wide and 4.9 inches tall.

Nest Cam IQ is available for pre-order from Nest for $299. It is expected to ship in four to five weeks (late June/early July).
