Tiny Jelly 4G Smartphone Finds Success on Kickstarter
Posted on May 5, 2017
Smartphones have been getting slightly bigger over the past few years. A new smartphone available through Kickstarter goes way in the opposite direction. The phone, named Jelly, is billed as the world's smallest smartphone. It has a tiny 2.45-inch display. Other specs include 2MP front-facing camera, 8MP rear camera, WiFi, 1.1GHz quad-core processor, Bluetooth 4.0 and dual nano SIM card slots.
The phone from Unihertz is a 4G smartphone. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. It already has nearly 4,000 backers and has raised nearly $400,000 - way over its $30,000 goal. Jelly has 1GB of RAM. There is also a pro version with 2GB of RAM.
The amount to get a Jelly started with an initial early bird offer of $59. This increased to a pledge of $79 or more. The latest version of the Jelly phone (Jelly 2) retails for $199.99.
