Zero Zero Robotics Unveils Flying Camera Called Hover Camera
Posted on June 1, 2016
Hover Camera is an autonomous flying camera from Zero Zero Robotics. It can hover directly in front of you to take photographs. The camera can also follow you.
The camera can take 13 megapixel photographs and record 4K video. It can rotate to record a panorama. The camera has a carbon fiber enclosure to keep fingers from hitting the spinning blades. It can be folded in half for easy storage. The lightweight camera weighs just 238 grams.Zero Zero Robotics CEO MQ Qang told Engadget, "It's a lot harder to build things of this size versus bigger things. Something of this size needs to be built from ground up... We use a completely proprietary algorithm, as we're squeezing every single drop of juice out of the Snapdragon 801; and we don't use open source code because it's not good enough."
The camera can be grabbed and thrown. You can catch it out of the air. The company says it is easy to operate out of the box. A price and release date have not yet been announced. Engadget says Zero Zero is aiming for a sub $600 price tag.
