The Ladies at the Butterball Hotline Talk Turkey Disasters

Marty Van Ness, Supervisor, Butterball Turkey Talk-Line says when the phone rings they never know what kind of question they are going to get. She says it's "always a joy to answer the questions," but we have to wonder about that.
One man wanted to thaw his turkey and wanted to know where to set the dial on his electric blanket. They told him not to put a raw turkey into an electric blanket. Instead, she advised him to immerse it in cold water for six hours.
She says they are largely hand-holders for people who have never cooked a turkey from 20 year olds to 70-somethings. We are glad there is someone reliable available to help these novice chefs on Thanksgiving. Take a look:
