Parents Steal Halloween Treats

A recent survey from the National Confectioners Association found that over half of American parents steal Halloween candy from their children. More than half of them also start eating Halloween treats before October 31st.

It is not a surprising find as Halloween candy is hard to resist. We would love to know some of the excuses parents gave for eating the Halloween candy accumulated by their kids. It is probably something like they have too much candy. They don't need to be eating all that sugar so I will help them.

On the plus side, the study found that 97% of Americans who welcome trick-or-treaters will hand out chocolate and candy, and two-thirds of those people say they give trick-or-treaters two or three pieces of candy.

The study also found that Americans like candy that has a creepy or scary theme or shape. Americans ranked pumpkins, ghosts, and bats as their favorite type of spooky candy shape.
