Oscar de la Renta: RTW Spring 2011
Posted on September 18, 2010
The Oscar de la Renta spring 2011 ready to wear show pretty much brought down the house. He sent 60 looks down the runway that were all pretty much gorgeous. There was a romantic rose garden theme underlying the show which Karlie Kloss showed off by opening and closing the show. She opened the show with a smile in a gorgeous natural silk linen trench coat embroidered with yellow silk jonquils. She carried a yellow ostrich cordia tote, which was filled with yellow flowers.
The daywear that followed was sophisticated, elegant and full of jackets, skirts, chic suits, sheaths and flowing day dresses.
Then the evening section of the program started and the gown-obsessed (that includes us) were in heaven. There were stunning black and white cocktail dresses: one of our favorites featured a swan's down collar. The ballgowns were simply gorgeous: Oscar went all out. There was something for every coloring: from a dramatic azalea-colored silk faille gown to full-volume ballgowns that are fit for a queen (or, if one of those is not available, perhaps a Best Actress nominee).
Coco Rocha got to wear a regal black silk faille and black point d'esprit ruffle gown -- and boy did she work it on the runway. Karlie closed the show in a celadon silk faille embroidered gown which featured pink carnation appliques, and a pink silk faille bolero. She wore ivory embroidered satin pumps. Take a look:
