Nike's Unexpected Food Themed Footwear
Updated May 29, 2016, originally posted on May 18, 2016
Nike has been offering some unusual food themed footwear lately. These include shoes that bear at least some resemblance to Starbucks, Krispy Kreme and Chicken and Waffles. Update: This post has been updated to include a Nike pizza shoe. Wearing these shoes might make you and those around you hungry.
The Starbucks sneakers pictured are our favorite of the three. The coffee colored shoes have a green trim and white Swoosh logo. The sneakers can be found at thepremierstore on the Premier store. GQ says Nike denied any affiliation with Starbucks for the footwear.
Sneakerfiles reports that the Krispy Kreme sneakers are a limited edition version of Kyrie Irving's sneaker. They are calling it the Ky-Rispy Kreme Kyrie shoe. They were even "served" from a Krispy Kreme truck as Sneakerfiles reports.

Finally, Nike decided to make shoes that resemble chicken and waffles. You can see the syrup dripping down the Nike Swoosh logo. Sneaker News has more about the waffle-like high-tops at Sneaker News. They are still listed on Nike.com.

Update 5-29-16: Nike isn't done yet with the food themed sneakers. The latest entry resembles pepperoni pizza. Highsnobiety reports that Nike SB teamed up with Skate Mental for the "Pepperoni Pizza" footwear.
Eater notes that this is not the first time Nike has been inspired by food. They had some shoes that were dessert inspired last year.
