Vanilla Tops Most Popular Ice Cream Flavors Survey

A study conducted by the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) found that vanilla is the most popular ice cream flavor. It was followed by chocolate, Cookies N' Cream, Mint Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.
Cary Frye, IDFA vice president of regulatory and scientific affairs, says in a statement, "Vanilla has long been the best-selling ice cream flavor not only because it is creamy and delicious, but also because of its ability to enhance so many other desserts and treats. It tastes great topped by whipped cream and fudge sauce in a sundae, with root beer in a float or atop a warm slice of apple pie."
We agree. Vanilla ice cream is very creamy and delicious. Sometimes we go for the vanilla bean ice cream flavor.

A Fox News report says a YouGov study from 2023 found vanilla to be the most popular flavor, followed by chocolate, cookies and cream, strawberry, chocolate chip and butter pecan.
