Michelle Obama Talks J. Crew to Leno
Posted on November 18, 2008
Michelle Obama appeared on The Tonight Show last week and Jay Leno asked her about her outfit. She said her yellow and brown outfit was entirely from J. Crew. Michelle Obama even told the crowd, "Ladies, we know J. Crew."
The New York Times reported on Michelle's outfit in an article called, J. Crew Benefits as Mrs. Obama Wears the Brand." She wore a pencil skirt that retails for $148. She also wore a yellow cardigan ($118) over a yellow and brown tank top that costs $148. The total outfit costs $414.
J. Crew has wisely been taking advantage of the free publicity. J. Crew created a special section on jcrew.com about the First Lady's outfit. They also purchased keywords on search engines about Michelle Obama.
Michelle loves sweater sets and J.Crew does those very well. We also like their new line of costume jewelry.
Note: The Cut is organized a collection of J. Crew outfits worn by Michelle Obama that includes the outfit she wore on Leno.
