First Lady Melania Trump and Akie Abe, the wife of the Prime Minister of Japan, toured the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens today in Delray, Florida. The Trumps are hosting the Abes for a weekend of golf diplomacy. While the men played golf at the president's golf club in Jupiter, Floria, the women toured the museum and gardens and fed the koi fish while the Japanese and American press corps followed along.
Mrs. Trump looked fantastic in a sleeveless white cashmere knit ankle length dress and cardigan by Calvin Klein. She accessorized with sunglasses and nude flats by Christian Louboutin. She also carried a fan. Mrs. Abe wore a white cotton, long sleeved shirt and a navy skirt with kick pleats. She accessorized with pearl drop earrings, navy pumps and carried her jacket, as the day was warm. The woman seemed happy and at ease during the visit.
Melania Trump wore a fabulous ensemble by Michael Kors while meeting the press on Air Force One yesterday. She wore white palazzo pants, a black shirt and black coat. We love that she wears flats with dresses, and not just heels.
Melania Trump issued a statement about her love of gardening and her intention to keep up Mrs. Obama's kitchen garden. Her senior adviser Stephanie Winston Wolkoff said, "The First Lady has a deep personal commitment to her role as caretaker and nurturer, beginning with her family. She believes there is a connection between a child's mind and places of calm and beauty to be used as a tool for us all. As a mother and as the First Lady of this country, Mrs. Trump is committed to the preservation and continuation of the White House Gardens, specifically the First Lady's Kitchen Garden and the Rose Garden."
Mrs. Obama had expressed hope that Mrs. Trump would keep up her garden at the White House and we're happy she's planning to do so.
