McCormick Acquires Stubb's Barbecue Sauce Brand

McCormick and Company has completed its purchase of Stubb's. Stubb's is a private company based in Austin, Texas that is known for its barbecue sauces. Stubb's also makes marinades, rubs and skillet sauces.
McCormick says Stubb's is the leading premium barbecue sauce company in the U.S. It projects Stubb's sales to be $30 million for 2015. McCormick plans to expand the distribution of Stubb's products. It plans to keep Stubb's headquarters in Austin.
Stubb's has a lot of different barbecue sauces. The Sweet Heat variety is our favorite. It has a great taste and it is not too hot. It is made using molasses, cane sugar and brown sugar. There is no high fructose corn syrup.
The company was founded by C.B. Stubblefield. Stubblefield (pictured on the bottle) opened the first Stubb's Bar-B-Q restaurant in Lubbock, Texas in 1968. He started selling his sauces to grocers in 1992.
