Mark Zuckerberg Covers Vanity Fair October 2015 Issue
Posted on September 14, 2015
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg covers the October 2015 issue of Vanity Fair. Zuckerberg did not change his style for the cover. He's wearing a gray t-shirt and jeans. The unstylish CEO has avoided wearing suits during his business career. The cover was photographed by Annie Leibovitz.
The Vanity Fair issue has a feature called The Disrupters with Zuckerberg at the top of the list. Some of the other disrupters included in the list are Travis Kalanick, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Elizabeth Holmes, Amy Schumer and John Oliver.
Zuckerberg is best known for the Facebook social network but he is also embarking on a major investment into virtual reality. Facebook purchased virtual reality headset developer Oculus last year for over $2 billion. The Vanity Fair story says Zuckerberg sees VR as the future and he is betting big on the technology.
Here's a video of Zuckerberg talking about VR with Vanity Fair. He says VR could come to your baby photos.
Facebook recently reached the 1 billion active users in a single day milestone but Zuckerberg is even more ambitious. He wants every person on the world to use Facebook. That won't be easy since some people refuse to use social networks and many people on the planet don't even have Internet access - but Zuckerberg is undeterred.
Zuckerberg says, "That's crazy. But then, when you get there, you realize a billion is sort of an arbitrary number. Our mission isn't to connect a billion people, it's to connect everyone in the world."
The Vanity Fair issue also has Taylor Swift ranked #1 on its "The Powers That Be" list. You can find the New Establishment List here.
