Tennis star Maria Sharapova will wear diamond drop earrings from the new Tiffany Grace collection at the 2011 US Open, August 29-September 11, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York. The collection features princess-cut diamonds that are bezel set in square designs and paired with round brilliant diamonds in platinum. The earrings cost $7,000.
Maria said, "Tiffany diamonds sparkle in the light like no other jewelry. It is a pleasure to wear them both on and off the court."
Maria wore drop earrings from the Tiffany yellow diamond collection at last year's U.S. open. She wore Paloma Picasso Tiffany earrings for the Australian Open - see Forbes.
Maria also wore Tiffany earrings for the French Open earlier this year. The cobblestone earrings that Maria selected featured rose-cut diamonds.
Tiffany is just one of several big endorsement deals Sharapova has landed over the years. Forbes says she retired with a $200 million fortune. Some of her other sponsors have included Nike, Canon, Tag Heuer, Motorola and Colgate-Palmolive. She even has a candy line called Sugarpova and owns part of the Supergoop sunscreen line.
