Lorde Covers Elle Magazine in Dior

Posted on May 16, 2017

Singer-songwriter Lorde covers the June 2017 issue of Elle magazine. She's wearing a blue sequined Dior bodysuit with Dior pumps on the cover.

Lorde is also pictured in a Gucci tank and leggings with denim shorts by Grlfrnd Denim in the Elle feature. Elle asks readers, "What if Lorde was one of us?" Lorde says she can't make the music she makes if she feels like a famous person.

Lorde talks about L.A. and how she needs a more private place to create and record. She says, "Everyone's making music in L.A. now-which is great if you aren't the shyest, most introverted nerd. I found it a little too social. I made my first record in New Zealand with very little discourse-I was just my own unit. In L.A., it's very, 'Oh, what project are you working on?' I was like, 'I need to be out of this.'"

She feels most at home in her homeland of New Zealand. She says, "Most of my friends are people I knew before I was famous. I'm very thankful that I never feel like the smartest person in the room, or the coolest person in the room, or the funniest. When I'm there, I'm just there. People forget that I've done anything."

Lorde's second studio album, Melodrama, will be released on June 16. It has been four years since her debut album, Pure Heroine. She released the first single from the new album a couple months ago. It is called "Green Light." Take a look:
