Kylie Jenner Talks Cosmetics and Money in Glamour UK
Posted on April 29, 2016
Kylie Jenner covers the June 2016 issue of Glamour magazine. Glamour calls the issue "The Social Issue." Kylie is certainly one of social media's big celebrity stars.
Kylie is only 18 but she already has successful products on the market. These include lip kits, fashion lines, nail polish and a mobile game. She launched a nail polish collection with SinfulColors in March and her Puma campaign photos recently arrived. Kylie told Glamour in the interview that she stopped having her mother pay for things five years ago.
Kylie says, "I haven't had a dollar of my mum's money for five years. Ever since I started earning my own money, I've paid for everything: all my cars, houses, clothes, everything. I like to know exactly what's going on and I'm actually quite careful with what I spend. We all are as a family."
Kylie also told Glamour that she is a proud feminist. She says, "I do consider myself a feminist. I'm a young woman, for one thing, and I don't depend on a man or anybody else. I make my own money and start my own businesses, and I feel like I'm an inspiration for a lot of young girls who want to stand on their own."
Kylie aims to have an entire cosmetics line out by age 20. Right now she is the face of many products but she plans to eventually move behind the scenes in the industry. She says, "I only show people what I want them to see. And in time, I think I'll jus slowly start moving behind the scenes. The show has to end eventually, and I'm not going to leave until we're done with it, but by 20 I want to have the whole of my cosmetics line out because that's my primary focus. I definitely won't want to be doing anything else that would make me more public."
The June 2016 Glamour issue featuring Kylie will arrive on newsstands on May 5th.
