Kendall Jenner Featured in Vogue Special Issue
Posted on March 23, 2016
Vogue magazine has created a special issue all about model Kendall Jenner. The cover refers to the "Kendall Effect" and lists Kendall's staggering social media follower account of 64 million and counting. The cover shoot was photographed by Mario Testino.
The special issue has an April 2016 date on the cover. Rihanna was the Vogue April 2016 cover model but Kendall has an issue all to herself. The 52-page special Kendall issue will be sent to subscribers with the regular April issue. Kendall is wearing a Proenza Schouler polka dot crop top on the cover with black bikini bottoms.
It looks like Vogue got the 64 million number by adding her Instagram and Twitter followers. She currently has 52 million followers on Instagram and 16 million on Twitter. That makes 68 million but it would have been less when the article was written. She will probably be over 70 million in a couple weeks. Kendall was thrilled to have a Vogue issue all to herself. What model or celebrity would not want that? What a monster ego boost for the young 20-year-old model.
Kendall writes on Instagram, "Y'all I could cry! my very own Vogue Magazine. THE WHOLE THING. JUST ME. WHAT!! so honored to be the special edition issue @voguemagazine thank you!" Kendall also shared a swimsuit shot from the special issue
Vogue.com is currently in full Kendall mode featuring some of the content from the issue on its homepage. This includes an article by Robert Sullivan about how Kendall stays grounded despite her huge social media following. She cannot possibly stay grounded - especially not now having her own issue of Vogue - but the article says she does. It also includes some tips from Kendall on posting strategies such as not doing too many posts because "you want to leave them wanting to come back." Kendall posts frequently on Instagram but not always daily.
Vogue also a video of Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid's sleepover part in Chanel couture. In the second video, Kendall shows 3 ways to craft smoky eyes. Take a look:
