Katy Perry Visits Oblivia Theme Park in Chained to the Rhythm Music Video

Posted on February 22, 2017

Katy Perry has a new single out called "Chained to the Rhythm." The new single features Skip Marley. In the music video for the song Katy visits a unique fictional theme park called Oblivia.

The theme park has a lovely retro feel but there are some dark undertones here that tie in with lyrics from the song, such as "so comfortable, we're living in a bubble," "happily numb" and "stumbling around like a wasted zombie." Visitors to the park shuffle along in lines to the rides. Is everything really as great as it appears?

Katy wears a cool, futuristic all-white outfit with a high-collared coat and pink hair. Hollywood Reporter reports that her look was created with costume designer B. Akerlund and the French fashion label On Aura Tout Vu. Visitors are eating giant multi-colored cotton candy. One of the rides features little houses that are carried high into the air and spun around. There is a roller coaster that leaves the tracks for a period of time but manages to land back on the tracks again. Another ride, called "Bombs Away," literally flings people up into the air and seemingly out of the park. There is also a ride that resembles an over-sized hamster wheel.

People also drink a flaming cocktail that lets you breathe fire. Skip Marley appears in the music arena where people are watching a music video and wearing 3D glasses. Katy Perry can be seen getting increasingly concerned as she explores the park. Take a look:
