Iconix Brand Group Sells Badgley Mischka to Titan Industries
Posted on March 4, 2016
Iconix Brand Group has sold the luxury Badgley Mischka brand to Titan Industries for $16 million in cash. The sale was done in conjunction with designers and founders Mark Badgley and James Mischka. It also includes the apparel licensee MJCLK LLC.
Iconix acquired Badgley Mischka in 2004. The company, which has a portfolio of over 30 brands, says the time and resources required to properly support the brand are not in line with the rest of its portfolio.
Mark Badgley says in a statement, "We have had a productive 11 years working with the Iconix team to build Badgley Mischka from its red carpet origins to a full lifestyle luxury brandy. We are excited to manage our core product categories in-house and focus on the luxury aspect in both product and image."
Titan was founded in 1998 by Joe Ouaknine. It currently holds the footwear licensing for Badgley Mischka, Charles Jourdan, LAMB by Gwen Stefani, Joe's Jeans and Daya by Zendaya. Titan has held the Badgley Mischka footwear license since the Fall 2006 collection.
