Hayden Panettiere Covers Self Magazine

Posted on February 17, 2010

Hayden Panettiere graces the cover of the March issue of Self magazine. In the interview, She talks about her role in The Cove, a documentary thriller made to expose the slaughter of dolphins in Japan. You can watch a video of Hayden diving with the dolphins below. Hayden also talked with Self about fitness and about how swimming is a great exercise. Hayden also says she likes wetsuits. She told Self, "They're like attractive Spanx."

On Exercise: "When I exercise, I just feel good. I'm not a 6-foot-tall skinny model, and, yes, I have cellulite, but I'm not going to apologize for my body. If you love your body, it will love you back. Confidence is beautiful."

On Swimming: "I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life after a dive. Swimming works all your muscles -your core, glues, quads, even the ones you didn't know you had, like the little ones in your feet and hands!"

On Helping the Dolphins: "I left knowing I'm not going to let those dolphins die in vain. Their deaths will help show the world the big picture. I've also taken a lot of trips to D.C. and met with senators about the issue. I even met with Barack Obama, when he was campaigning. He said he grew up in Hawaii so dolphins and whales are very close to him. I knew I had two minutes to reel off what I wanted to get across. He was larger than live and so nice. Laws and politics-that's where things change."
