Trolli: Those Aren't Our Gummi Bears in Katy Perry's California Gurls Music Video
Posted on June 17, 2010
There are some very rude gummy bears in Katy Perry's "California Gurls" music video. The little bears give Katy Perry the finger.
Trolli Gummi Bears wants nothing to do with them. Trolli told MTV News that there is no way these bears are Trolli Gummi Bears. A Trolli spokesperson said Trolli Gummi Bears would have given Katy Perry a hug, not the finger.
"Those are definitely not Trolli Gummi Bears in the video because Trolli Gummi Bears would never be that rude," John Leonardo, senior brand manager of Farley's and Sathers (which owns Trolli), told MTV in a statement. "Trolli bears would extend their chubby little arms and give Katy a big old bear hug and whisper, 'Everything is going to be alright.' "
MTV also contacted Haribo, a German manufacturer of gummy bears, but they did not return MTV's calls. We hope MTV continues to stay on top of this important story.
