Godfather Version of Monopoly Launches
Posted on June 14, 2012
Usaopoly, under license from Hasbro and Paramount Licensing, has launched a version of Monopoly based on The Godfather movie. This new collector's board game celebrates the 40th anniversary of the film.
In the Godfather version of the game, you buy, sell and trade the likes of Woltz International Pictures, Moe Green's Casino, Joe's Diner and Hyman Roth's Home. You can make them an offer they can't refuse as you vie for the Corleone Long Island Home and Corleone Lake Tahoe Estate (the prime properties traditionally occupied by Boardwalk and Park Place). Utilities have been replaced by cops and politicians. The six game tokens include: the horse head, cannoli, Genco Olive Oil tin, the Don's limo, a dead (sleeping) fish or the tommy gun. Who would want to be a horse's head?
Monopoly: The Godfather Collector's edition costs $39.95. There are special power cards, such as a kidnapping card, which is a cool new addition to the traditional game of Monopoly.
