Mariah Carey May Buy Fleur de Lys Mansion in Beverly Hills

The Fleur de Lys in Beverly Hills is one of the most famous mansions in the United States. It is modeled after King Louis XIV's Palace of Versailles.
The auction listing on Christie's Great Estates says the mansion is 53,812 square feet and has fifteen bedrooms and sixteen bathrooms. The estate was built by Texas billionaire David Saperstein. Some of the special features include a 50-seat cinema theater and a private jogging track.
Mariah Carey has announced plans to move from New York to California. She's also reportedly put in a bid for the Fleur de Lys in Beverly Hills, which at an asking price of $125 million is being called the world's most expensive mansion. The amount of Mariah's bid is not known.
Mariah Carey did not end up buying the mansion. It sold to a Norwegian billionaire for around $102 million according to the Wikipedia entry.
