Erdem: RTW Fall 2010

Rising star Erdem Moralioglu is making quite a name for himself with his feminine dresses which have been worn by Michelle Obama, Sarah Brown (wife of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown), Keira Knightley, Gwyneth Paltrow and Thandie Newton. Born in Canada, with a British mother and a Turkish father who is a chemical engineer, Erdem went to fashion school in London at the Royal College of Art.
His fall 2010 ready to wear collection was inspired by nostalgia for his childhood in Canada and a project his documentary filmmaker sister is working on now about the Arctic. Inspired by big skies and big birds, he worked the bird motif into the hand embroidery. His signature look is a gorgeous dress, and there were many of those, with silk, lace, ruffles and rosettes.
