Posted on April 17, 2011

Fashion designer John Galliano has just been fired from his own label, the one which bears his name.

WWD reports that Christian Dior's board of directors met recently and decided to giver the designer the boot after already firing him as lead designer for Dior.

Christian Dior SA owns 91% of the Galliano line and has decided not to sell it at this time. Instead, the existing staff will prepare upcoming collections. Galliano himself will face trial in Paris on charges of "public insult" after allegedly making anti-Semitic remarks at a bar (the designer denies the charges). He just got of rehab in Arizona for an alcohol addiction.

CBS News reports that a video with him proclaiming "I Love Hitler" led to his firing.
