Tiffany Partners With Coty to Launch New Fragrance Line
Posted on February 1, 2016
Tiffany & Co. has partnered with Coty to launch a new line of fragrances. The fragrances will be sold at Tiffany stores and at select luxury retailers.
Tiffany currently has a small line of eight fragrances for men and women. Tiffany Parum retails for $140 for .25 ounces. Tiffany has provided few details about the upcoming line other than that it will include fragrances for both women and men. Fortune reports that it is "unclear whether the current fragrance selection will be rolled into this deal." What is clear is that Tiffany would like a larger piece of the fragrance market.
Coty is known for its fragrance deals with huge celebrities. It has fragrance deals with Beyonce, Katy Perry, David Beckham, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lopez as well as with many top fashion labels.
Tiffany CEO Frederic Cumenal says in a statement, "Tiffany is among the world's most important houses of luxury, and fragrances are an important expression of the brand. We are pleased to work with Coty, an industry leader in the prestige fragrance category, on the development of a more meaningful fragrance portfolio through this licensing agreement."
Update: The Tiffany and Coty fragrance, Tifffany Eau de Parfum, was released in 2017. The scent was created by master perfumer Daniela Andrier of Givaudan. The crystal perfume bottle with a hint of blue juice was inspired by iconic Tiffany jewels. The fragrance was followed by the release of Tiffany Eau de Parfum Intense in 2018, which was sold in a similar bottle (see below).
