Cate Blanchett Walks the Red Carpet at the 2016 Oscars in Armani Prive Gown
Posted on March 1, 2016
Cate Blanchett took a fashion risk at the 2016 Oscars. She wore a seafoam green mermaid gown by Armani Prive which featured cap sleeves and elaborate embellishments of clusters of Swarovski crystals and white feathers. This many feathers could have gone horribly wrong, but Cate pulled the look off with aplomb.
Cate accessorized her look with diamond jewelry from Tiffany & Co., including drop earrings in platinum with marquise and round diamonds, a stunning starfish cuff in platinum with round diamonds, and a ring in platinum with a 2.30-carat round diamond and round diamond border. Her heels were by Zanotti Design and her clutch was by Roger Vivier.
Cate was nominated for Best Actress for her role in the film Carol, along with Jennifer Lawrence for Joy, Brie Larson for Room, Charlotte Rampling for 45 Years and Saoirse Ronan for Brooklyn. The award went to Brie Larson for her role in Room.
