High School Sprinter Candace Hill Signs Ten Year Deal with ASICS

Posted on March 7, 2016

Candace Hill, a record-setting high school sprinter, has cut a multi-year deal with ASICS. The 10-year deal will run through 2025. The deal makes Candace the youngest American sprinter to ever turn pro.

Candace, 17, became the first female high school athlete to run a 100 meter spring in under 11 seconds last year. Her 10.98 second time would have got her 7th place at the 2012 Olympic Games and tied for second at the 2008 Olympic Games. Candace is also a great student. She has a weighted GPA of 4.6 and has multiple Advanced Placement (AP) classes.

Candace says in a statement, "This is such an amazing moment for me and everyone who has supported me, from my family and friends, to my coaches and classmates. I have big dreams – both on and off the track – and I feel like I'm just getting started. It means a lot to have ASICS step up and commit to helping me on my journey as a professional athlete. I can't believe that this is really happening and can't wait to get out there and show everyone what I can do."

ASICS CEO Gene McCarthy says, "Candace is a once-in-a-lifetime talent with incredible potential – and a remarkable young woman. We're so proud she has chosen to partner with ASICS as she embarks on her racing career and know there are big things ahead for her."

Here's an ASICS campaign featuring Cadance called Don't Run, Fly.
