Brad and Angelina at the Golden Globes

They don't go to too many awards shows together, but when they do they certainly know how to cause a ruckus. At the Golden Globes this year, Angelina Jolie wore a grey chiffon St. John dress with a shawl, which looked lovely. If there is anyone who can carry off a slate grey evening dress, it's Angie. Her makeup was perfect, with incredibly lengthy false eyelashes, black eyeliner, plum eyeshadow and a pink glossy lipgloss. She wore a Grecian-style updo that really worked with her ensemble.
For jewelry, she selected something unusual and beautiful: a vintage-style uncut diamond necklace, earrings and bangles set in 22kt yellow gold by Bochic from the D'Orazio & Associates showroom. The pieces were inspired by centuries-old Indian jewelry and were hand crafted by artisans who used ancient jewelry-making techniques. They took hundreds of hours to create. Her stylist for the evening was Jen Rade, who has worked with Angie for three years.
So, she looked fabulous. But the evening went downhill after that, at least from Ryan Seacrest's perspective. When Seacrest interviewed her and Brad, Brad gamely answered all the questions. But Angelina just stared at Ryan and barely said a word. Her snub of Seacrest was quite obvious. Seacrest was so furious that he fired back on his KIIS-FM morning radio show in L.A.
Seacrest said, "I asked her four questions and she didn't even answer me. I literally stood there and tried to ask a couple of questions. At one point I just kind of let the E! microphone sit in front of her for a second to see if she was going to acknowledge it, and she clearly wanted nothing to do with me or my question or my answer or any of it."
Funny, she was an absolute doll when she was interviewed by CNN's Anderson Cooper. But then again, Anderson has reported on horrific conditions in Africa, he covered Hurricane Katrina, and we don't recall that he ever asked her what she made the kids for breakfast or what she was wearing. Of course, that's kind of unfair to Ryan Seacrest, who is just doing his job for E! After all, the red carpet is the place to show off your dress and earrings and say how excited you are to be there. If you walk the red carpet, you've got to be ready for some fluffy questions.
In any event, Kelly Gray of St. John was ecstatic over Angie's performance. Gray told the O.C. Register, "It was one of my career highlights to see her in the dress on the red carpet."
St. John execs are happy that their custom gown looked fabulous. Brad is happy that Babel won. Bochic is certainly happy. Makers of Indian jewelry are happy. But Ryan Seacrest is very unhappy. Is Anderson Cooper available for the Oscars?
