Black Swan Tearoom, Langham London Named Top London Tea Spots

Posted on April 20, 2010

The Palm Court at The Langham London was named the top spot for afternoon tea in London by the Tea Guild. Irene Gorman, head of The Tea Guild, said, "Taking tea at Palm Court at The Langham is nothing short of a delight, with a beautiful, luxurious and very tranquil environment, combined with a very high quality of tea, food and service. For anyone caught in the bustle of London's West End, afternoon tea at Palm Court is a perfect retreat - an oasis of calm and tranquility."

Some of the teas and snacks available at The Langham's classic Wonderland Afternoon Tea include tea sandwiches filled with blue fin tuna and pickled cucumber, smoked Scottish organic salmon with horseradish and watercress, home-baked scones, and English classics like Bakewell tarts and chocolate gateau.

The Black Swan Tearoom and Patisserie was named the Top Tea Place of 2010.

The dedicated tea menu was awarded bonus points by The Tea Guild's expert judges and from the choice of 20 blends, Alison would choose an oolong as her perfect cup. "We serve an oolong from the Phoenix Mountains in China that has wonderful peachy notes which just get better with each infusion," she enthuses. Alison believes it's perfect with her "favourite" carrot and orange cake, which she confesses is "an indulgence I can never refuse!"
