Beyonce Wears Custom Michael Costello Gown to Grammy Awards

Posted on January 28, 2014

Beyonce and Jay-Z opened the Grammys with a steamy rendition of "Drunk in Love" that got the crowd on their feet. After her performance she changed clothes and headed over to the Grammys Deadline Photo Room so the photographers could get their shots, as she had skipped the red carpet.

Beyonce wore a nearly see through nude gown which had an overlay of hand-embroidered flowers and leaves placed strategically. Beyonce's performance and event looks were styled by Ty Hunter.

The gown was created by Project Runway alum Michael Costello in three days. Ty said he found Michael's designs through social media and also remembered him from Project Runway. Michael told E!, "It was incredible! We didn't have any of her sizes or measurements. The dress was just made to fit a sample mannequin. It's smaller than a size 4. She is tiny! That dress is at least a 2/4. She looks amazing. I just love the way it all came together. Ty knew it was going to fit." Michael said he made four outfits so Ty would have lots of options. The gown wasn't even fitted on Beyonce until the day of the Grammys. And it fit perfectly.

In this video clip, Beyonce works it for the photographers who seem quite appreciative of how fabulous she looks in the gown. Take a look:
