There are a couple toys in the works to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the song "Yellow Submarine" by the Beatles. The song was written by Paul McCartney and released in 1966. There was also an animated film based on the song released in 1968.
The toy announcements include an announcement from LEGO that The Beatles Yellow Submarine project from LEGO Ideas will become an actual set.
The LEGO set is now in stores and can be found on Amazon.com.LEGO says, "As an amateur musician and songwriter, Kevin Szeto, wanted to show his affection for The Beatles through a LEGO tribute to the iconic British rock band. He really brought it to life in vibrant and fun colours, and even included the whole band as LEGO Minifigures. Place them in the submarine or build your own stage and reproduce The Beatles’ greatest hits!"
Another new Yellow Submarine toy is the Yellow Submarine from Hot Wheels. It is also available on Amazon.com. EW reports that the new toy is part of a special collection that will accompany a new released of the animated film. The pack first arrived at The Cirque du Soleil Beatles Shop in Las Vegas earlier this month. It is expected to arrive at Walmart stores this month.
