Barbie and Her Electronic Purse

Barbie. Well, now Mattel has created this amazing Barbie purse that is just filled with electronic gadgets. This would make a perfect holiday gift for your favorite little girl.
The pink vinyl handbag includes a pretend cell phone with messages in Barbie's voice, sunglasses, and a flip-top compact that plays upbeat tunes when you open it. It also includes a fake credit card, driver's license and remote key chain complete with sound effects.
And if she has her own fake cellphone (which does not emit any nasty radiation or microwaves or whatever it is that the scientists assure us that cellphones don't emit these days), maybe she'll leave your cellphone alone. After all, yours is boring silver or black -- hers is pink.
When we were six we would have gone absolutely bonkers for this. We could look just like mommy! We could shop, drive the car, go to work, take care of the family and look fabulous doing it. We couldn't wait to grow up. Hmmmm...on the other hand, you could just get your favorite little girl a lovely Raggedy Ann doll. Something low-tech. But when her friend gets the electronic Barbie purse, trust us, all heck is going to break loose in your household.
