Arnold & Son Launches Metiers d’Art Dragon Watches
Posted on June 12, 2016
Arnold & Son has launched two Métiers d'Art Dragon watches. The hand-painted watches were created to celebrate the dragon. In Chinese mythology the dragon is a divine creature signifying power and good fortune.
Philippe Boven of Arnold & Son says in the announcement, "The art of hand-painting miniatures takes many years of concentrated practice to perfect, and these exquisite dragons presented our specialists with an ideal opportunity to showcase their skills."
The watches feature white mother-of-pearl dials. They have 18-karat rose gold and 18-karat red gold cases with brown or black alligator straps. The HM Dragon watch ($41,900) is pictured above and the UTTE Dragon watch ($85,900) is pictured below.
Arnold & Son also launched a dragon watch in 2012 to mark the Chinese Year of the Dragon. The watch was called the HMS1 Dragon Limited Edition. You can find more about it here.
