Apple Unveils Taller, Faster, Thinner iPhone 5

Apple has announced the iPhone 5, which it bills as the thinnest smartphone ever made. The 7.6 mm thick iPhone 5 is 18% percent thinner and 20% lighter than the iPhone 4S. The phone weighs just 112 grams. It features a new aluminum designs and contains a new A6 chip, which Apple says its twice as fast as its predecessor.
Other features and highlights of iPhone 5 include 4-inch Retina display, 8 megapixel iSight camera, FaceTime HD front facing camera, Siri, new all-digital Lightning connector, cellular wideband audio support, Apple EarPods and support of wireless standards LTE and DC-HSDPA.

Phone 5 comes in either white and silver or black and slate. It will cost $199 for the 16GB model, $299 for the 32GB model and $399 for the 64GB model. It goes on sale on in the U.S. on Friday, September 21.
