Angry Birds' Red Balloon to Appear in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Angry Bird's Red character will appear as a giant balloon in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The parade will take place on November 26, 2015. This is the 89th year for the annual parade.
Red is one of the Angry Birds that battles the pigs in the mobile game franchise from Rovio Entertainment, a Finnish computer game developer. It was one of the first mobile games to become a major hit in 2009 and 2010. New versions of the game have been released about twice a year since the original.
Angry Birds will hit the big screen on May 20, 2016. The animated The Angry Birds Movie features the voice of Jason Sudeikis as Red. Other actors providing voices in the film include Danny McBride, Bill Hader, Peter Dinklage and Maya Rudolph.
The Red balloon will be 45.5-feet tall, 29.7-feet wide and 44-feet long. Red's eyebrows alone will be 7-feet wide. The balloon will have Red's signature angry scowl.
Amy Kule, executive producer of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, says in a statement, "With his trademark angry look, but lovable personality, Red will protect his precious egg as he takes flight down the streets of Manhattan and into the hearts of millions of spectators lining the Parade route and tens of millions more watching from homes across the country."
